Happy Friday babes! Today I wanted to talk about the Gucci belt that is trending right now. I decided to finally make the purchase back in January after thinking about it for quite a while.… More
Happy Sunday everyone! This past week I’ve been in Cabo San Lucas for spring break and can’t wait to share with you my experience! Next week I will be posting a blog on my entire trip but for today, I wanted to tell you about this amazing restaurant I visited. Before the trip, a friend recommended that I make reservations at Sunset MonaLisa for dinner and it was incredible! The restaurant offers reservations at 5:30 every evening for a sunset dinner overlooking the famous Arch. The dining experience is phenomenal and the views are breathtaking. It makes for the perfect romantic date night!
When you get to the restaurant, they bring out complimentary champagne and bread with the best truffle butter I’ve ever had! For dinner, we tried the Beef Carpaccio, Mushroom Fettuccine, Lamb Shank, and Pollo Orgánico Farcito! Each dish was great but I have to say, my favorite was the appetizers! Once we finished eating, a photographer came up and took our pictures. I highly recommend this place if you’re ever visiting! You won’t be disappointed!
Happy Sunday babes! This week I went into Sephora to pick up a few of my favorites and my free birthday gift! I was so sad when I found out that they discontinued Benefit’s Gimme Brow Volumizing Eyebrow Gel so I was in search of a new one. One of the girls immediately recommended me the Too Faced Brow Quickie and let me tell you… I am OBSESSED. I love a good eyebrow gel that gives my brows a natural tint and locks them in place all day. I also picked up Two Faced Born This Way Foundation. This lightweight product is medium to full coverage but leaves skin with a natural and smooth finish. I love that it’s infused with coconut water and hyaluronic acid to replenish the moisture in your skin. Who doesn’t love makeup that also doubles as skin care! Lastly, I picked up my free birthday gift!!!!! I chose the Bite Beauty Bite Lip Set. It comes with a Mini Amuse Bouche lipstick in Chai, Mini Matte Crème Lip Crayon in Glace, and an Agave Lip Treatment! My favorite out of the set is the lip treatment that includes a lip balm and a sugar lip scrub. This scrub made my lips feel so soft after just one use! I hope you guys enjoy these products as much as I have..so head on over to Sephora and try it for yourselves!

Hey guys! My name is Allison and I’m a 21 year old Nashville native. I’m currently studying Entertainment Industry Studies and Marketing at Belmont University!
Growing up as an only child, I always wanted that big sister that I could go to for advice, make up & fashion tips, etc. High school was not the best four years for me…it was full of overcoming challenges that seemed like the end of the world. Some of those challenges were silly and unnecessary, while others were things that I really struggled with. In those moments, I wished for a sister that could help me find my way through it all and give me that “been there, done that” advice. One day, I found that advice through the community of lifestyle blogs. Something I’ve always loved about social media is the community that it has built and the way it makes you feel so connected. The biggest lesson I learned was that at the end of the day, everything was going to be okay because God gave me the beautiful gift of life and a million reasons to smile.
I created this blog as a way to share my passion for life, fashion, and traveling. My hope and intentions are to make this a place for discussion and to build each other up as a community of women. I’m so excited to share with you everything that inspires me. Thanks for stopping by!
Hey guys! Last night I made this amazing broccoli cheddar chicken. It’s a copycat recipe of Cracker Barrel’s famous chicken. Being that their broccoli cheddar chicken is my favorite, I HAD to try it! For the chicken, it needs to be thin so I picked up some thinly sliced chicken cutlets from Publix. They made this recipe 10x easier! Also, I recommend trying flavored Ritz crackers for this! On the comments, I read that a lot of people used the garlic Ritz crackers and said it made it so much better! This recipe was super easy and only took me 15 minutes to prepare! I will definitely be adding this to my dinner recipe list! Give it a try and let me know what you guys think. Hope everyone has a great week 🙂
I was the “yes” girl.
Whenever an opportunity was presented, I took it.
Whenever someone needed advice, I gave it.
Whenever someone asked me to do something for them, I did it.
I did it because I thought that was what a good friend would do.
I did it because I thought it would make me a bad person if I were to say “no.”
I did it because I thought it was the right thing to do.
During my freshman year of college, I attended a “self-care” seminar. A woman was sharing a personal story of how she was the “yes” girl. She explained that it all changed when she woke up and realized that in order to be a good friend to others, she had to be a good friend to herself. This meant that she had to learn how to say no so that she could properly take care of herself and manage her time wisely. Unfortunately, I didn’t value “me time” because I was living a life to please others. That all changed after that seminar.
It took some time for me to break that habit…it’s not easy to do. I even catch myself falling back into my old ways every now and again. However, I learned to listen to my body and find what I needed in order to function at my personal best. Below are 5 tips that I have learned over the years that have helped me significantly with not being the “yes” girl.
1. Set your goals. I have found that it’s so much easier to be productive when you set goals for yourself. Each week, I list out 5 things I want to accomplish. Take that time to figure out what your goals are and make them happen!
2. Plan ahead. By planning ahead, I know how busy my week is and can efficiently get what I need to get done, done. It’s not always easy and sometimes things come up, but by having a pretty clear idea of what your plans are, it makes it easier to follow through and manage your time wisely.
3. Learn to say “NO.“ Yes, it is completely fine to say no. It’s so much better to be honest and say that you can’t rather than adding it onto your already-full life plate. Remember that saying “no” doesn’t define you, nor does it make you a bad person. Make yourself a priority.
4. Value your time. Understanding the value of your time will help you to choose your commitments wisely. Prioritize so that you can get the most important things done. Try making a to-do list. By writing down everything that needs to be done in order of importance, you can see what you need to be doing first.
5. Ask others for help. It’s okay to ask for help when you need it because sometimes you just can’t get it all done on your own! I know it’s hard for all you Type-A’s like me, but your health & sanity comes first!
Happy Saturday everyone! Hope you guys are having a great weekend so far. With Easter being next week, I wanted to do a round up of some of my favorite dresses, shoes, and purses for the holiday! I love all of the pastel color options available right now, especially on Nordstrom and Revolve. I don’t usually wear heels because I am so tall, so I’ve listed some great flat sandals to wear with dresses, which can also give it a more casual look. If you’re looking for a pastel colored bag for spring, I definitely recommend the blush Rebecca Minkoff bag listed in the bottom right corner. It’s a great color and size….and not to mention it’s on sale! I hope you all enjoy these as much as I do!
Happy Friday everyone! I’m SO excited to finally be sharing with you my experience in Cabo San Lucas for spring break!! I went with a few friends and we seriously had the best time.
We stayed at the Cachet Beach Hotel which is about 30-40 minutes away from the airport. The resort is located right on Medano Beach, one of the only swimmable beaches in Cabo San Lucas. The drive there was a lot of fun because we got to see all the new hotels and some of the city. When we arrived, we were greeted by the sweetest staff that took our bags and groceries.
The resort has two pools, one that is super quiet, and the one that is in the middle overlooking the ocean with a bar, music, poolside service, and games! During the day we would begin at the main pool to enjoy the music, food, and drinks! Later on we would work our way over to the smaller pool to catch the last bit of the sun. Below the main pool is the beach filled with comfy cabanas and chairs. Each day we had the option to call and reserve one of them before we walked out there. It was so easy and convenient because when we got there, the cabanas had towels and menus set up and waiting for us! Not to mention the beach/pool menu was amazing. The sushi and tacos were my fave!
Surrounding our hotel was a variety of restaurants, beach clubs, and the marina. One of the nights we walked next door to The Office which is a restaurant on the beach. Our table and chairs were on the sand right next to the shore! It was so much fun because they had a live band and gave us blankets for when it got chilly. I had the best coconut shrimp and the food presentation was amazing!
We also visited Sunset MonaLisa which I talked about in my previous blog post! The food was fantastic and the experience was unforgettable. The restaurant is located about 15 minutes from Medano Beach so it was great to get away to see the full view of the arch at sunset.
On our last day we visited Breathless Resort & Spa, an all-inclusive hotel that offers day passes for the pool and restaurant. The day pass was only $70 which gave us access to the pool from 9-6 pm. The pass was also all-inclusive so we were able to order unlimited food and drinks! It was such a great deal because drinks and food can really add up when you’re laying by the beach or pool. The pool had a live dj, games, pool floats, and a fashion show! My favorite part about it was the view from the infinity pool. It overlooked the water and the arch, and getting to watch the sunset from there was amazing!
Overall, we had the best time and I highly recommend the Cachet Beach hotel! The only thing that I wasn’t a huge fan of was the construction. The hotel is undergoing a lot of construction because they’re adding new towers and a pool. We knew this was going on before booking the trip, but the construction was not loud or anywhere near where we were so it didn’t bother us! Though it was hard to leave such a beautiful place with the best staff… we will definitely be back soon!
